Océ Print Logic Technologies (Creteil-France) is a research and development center with 100+ employees. Océ has joined the Canon Group in 2011 to build a robust global leader in the printing industry, offering innovative print and document management products and services for professional environments. For some years now a transition has been taking place toward a new R&D model, in which there is explicit room for partners that add scale and innovative strength. In the past, innovation was largely an inside-out process, using our own-developed knowledge. Today, innovation is largely outside-in. This open innovation model enables Océ to supplement its own unique strengths by making use of the innovative capacity of its partners. Conversely, the know-how and technology that Océ possesses also makes it attractive for third parties to develop new products in partnership with Océ. Océ R&D Europe (Creteil-France, Venlo-Netherlands, Poing-Germany, Szeged-Hungary, Namur-Belgium, and Timisoara-Romania) is the biggest research center of the Canon Group outside Japan where computer scientists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, physicists, chemists and industrial designers work together in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. In particular, the R&D team in Creteil-France is in charge of carrying out innovative projects in the areas of image processing and computer science in collaboration with different labs and universities around Europe and USA. Thanks to these collaborations our team has been able to become the leader of 2.5D printing and its applications in the packaging, decorative and fine art reproduction industries.

OCE counts with excellent laboratory facilities for print quality estimation and improvement. The research team is composed of engineers with different backgrounds and functions ranging from fundamental research to product development. This group conceived the OCE 2.5D/relief printing technology and therefore counts with the tools (software and hardware) and expertise needed for several applications of multi-layer printing.
